july…

a niece arrives two weeks early,
sectioned fresh from God:
Annapearce, 6 lbs, 1 oz, all is well.
my daughter weeps as her best-friend
follows her soldier-father to a new Texas life.
the buds near the front steps
finally rise to pink destinies.
this long weekend peals with
freedom, quarter-notes of
bratwurst, blue moon,
sloth, sunshine,
and rodeo queens on parade,
what Harrison calls
‘the hard-peckered music of the living.’

Just feel like I had a glass of tea. Happy July 4th to you and yours, PB.

I guess I need to stop reading your blog during break time. My co-workers don’t understand my teary eyes. Sweet emotion…

Thanks, Vickie…not many, including co-workers, understand tears, be it break time or anytime…
