Epistle

1The way I read it Jesus was pretty crummy at follow-up,
not going back after the miraculous fact and checking-in
to see how things were going or if there were any queries.
2Maybe he did that a little with his *boys, but the rest of the
population experienced him as a rolling stone: cast out those
demons over there, then adios; pitch a little forgiveness right
down the middle to him or her (s-t-e-e-e-e-r-i-k-e) then back
on the bus and off to the next game under the lights. 3If anything,
Jesus was the good Samaritan half-breed God following the neon
rainbow – his modus operandi was clear: stop, love, and roll.
4All too often our elaborate methods of discipleship are grievous
burdens to be borne. Brothers and sisters, this should not be so.

*boys – the disciples/the twelve, e.g., Peter, James, John
