January Psalm

But the heart is different. It never

Then it is recalibrated to its own
predestined alleluia and slowly, the heart
begins to remember and sings.

You and your poetry wear January well. What is it about the cold and mystery, the darker days that produces beautiful poetry. This John speaks to me with power and might. Beauty coming out of The Beautiful Due, as always. As always.

I lost my mom this weekend. I especially love the line about the heart’s recalibration. Thank you for putting it so gently and sweetly.
