Prologue

Long before even the first breeze
stirred there was a song whose
notes gave rise to all that is.
Everything and everyone that
has a name hangs on this song.
Everything. And everyone.
Not everyone realizes this but that
doesn’t stop it from being true.
This is how its always been.

I’m just reading The Magician’s Nephew with my kids, where Aslan sings Narnia into being. Such a beautiful picture. Also recently heard a story (NPR) about how certain languages are tonal so kids literally learn to sing the same words in different pitches to mean different things – the same words are always sung the same way. You’ve touched on something here, John. Thanks.

Thanks, Kelly. There are some who translate ‘logos’ as sound/voice/song…I lean in that direction.

Love this. Reminds me of Calvin Miller’s, “The Singer.” (But I like this better. :>)

Thanks, Diana. Yes, it made me think of Calvin too…
