Indeed

The truth be told – He’d grown fond of them.

God admired all His creation, declared every

jot and tittle good, of this there was no doubt.

But those two grew on Him in a surprising

way. God gained the thrill of falling in love.

The trespass of trees and fruit was no mere

trifle, everything afterward muted and hard.

Yet it was their evening walks God missed most,

when she and he would talk nonstop of all

they’d seen and heard and done that new day.

God could hardly get a word in edgewise,

and He grew fond of them. Very fond indeed.

Beautiful, John! THANK YOU for words that spark in me the intimacy with God I long for …..knowing He longs for it more.
