yes, all is grace…

I woke this morning with a word on my mind – release. That word has a very real weight to it because Brennan Manning’s memoir – All Is Grace – finally releases today. I was privileged to work with him on this project. I’m damn proud of it. I hope you’ll search for a copy…we’ve gotten very good early reviews. That word also has texture today because of some of what I learned working with Brennan on this book: a life of grace is a life of release. You’ll need to read the book to get the full effect of that line.

I’ve been somewhat startled to hear or read the phrase all is grace quite a bit lately. I don’t always know what others mean when they use that phrase, but I do wonder. My fear is those three words are being used lightly, possibly inching toward some kind of hip status. Whatever I believed about grace was blown to smithereens working with Brennan Manning. Most of us have some moral point on the horizon, some edge beyond which we believe grace does not touch; grace on a leash. Its what I call the flat-earth theory of grace…sail beyond a certain longitude and latitude and you’ll fall off the lip of God’s love. Brennan Manning has been an explorer, a Christopher Columbus bracing into the reckless raging fury that they call the love of God. And what did he discover?

Spoiler alert – God’s grace knows no edge, it goes round and round and on and on…it cannot be weakened by anything a human being does or disbelieves. It runs on, a pure thing, in spite of, as well as because of, us. Yes, all is grace…

All Is Grace is available wherever good books are sold.

Congrats my friend! I hope to see so many people go after this book. I review a lot of books, but this is the first I will also promote so heavily. Of course I have vested interest.

I may need to go buy a copy today though just so I can see what pictures were added to all those back pages.

Thanks, PC…the pictures are good, images that have depth to them based on the words…and thanks for your efforts to get the word out.

    John,

Been reading this book for a few days (thank you kindle). Still enjoying every word. There’s much that’s challenging here. All from a memoir. I believe the preachers who share through their narrative… and the guys who help put words to that.

I know this is just a review, but you’ve left me with a safe place, a space to breathe a sigh of relief. Thank you.

Congratulations! I’ve eagerly anticipated this day, and considered getting it for my kindle. On second thought I’m going to order the hardcopy…still love to “get my hands” on a good book!

Jamie, the hardcopy really is beautiful…I’m sure I’m biased, but it really is…thanks very much!

John, be biased! You just wrote a book with Brennan Manning. You should be tripled-biased! 😉
