Old Friend

‘Come close. No, closer.’
His breath was a mix
of cavities and nicotine
so I held mine while he
uttered his haze of words:
‘The world is irresistible.’

A Greyhound rolled him
from my life the morning
small inconsistencies in orbit
coincided with usual fullness.
I knew the supermoon was
coming. Still, I wasn’t ready.

Supermoons occur about once every 14 full moons in a full moon cycle, according to Wikipedia. Could it be that old friends are also on a cycle and will come around again?

I would hope so, David. I would like that very much.

what is it about that moon? I do believe its influence far exceeds whatever science can tell us. . .
