Waiting
O Muse Darling,
I waited for you
in our familiar place. Waited for you to come spread wide yourself and let me in. But you never showed.
Nevertheless I still sat framed by fidelity listening to
heater tick, tick
as blue black sky and wet white snow became clear as day through our favorite window. I’m a little piqued. I lit a candle and everything.

Wonderful inspiration from a “No Show”.
Hi, Gwendolyn. Thank you.
Your words left me breathless with their longing for inspiration…and it did.
Thank you, Carol.
Not far enough along in my “the beautiful due” experience to understand this one. I’ve read it three times and have yet to see where you’re heading. I’ll read it again. Maybe I missed something. When I consider the magnitude of your writing ability, as exemplified in “You’ve Got to Know When to Hold ’em” — I’m sure I did.
Forgive me, but this one seemed to zing right over my head.
Lindsay
Lindsay, you’re gracious to read my nonsense. Hang in there, and thanks.
a sense of humor
brought you through
the rough patch
smoothly
Yes, Nancy, it really did.
You know, I find myself piqued when she’s a no-show, too. The nerve. But generally, she shows up somewhere, often when I’m not waiting patiently, with the candle lit. And then what to do? She can be capricious, that one.
Diana, yes, the nerve indeed.
Too funny! I love this one! So right on! This is a fun one, and I love the creativity in it!
Sadly, I’m often the one not showing up, not stopping to spread wide to let anything/anyone in. To my window with match for the candle!
This one made me laugh out loud, John. Been there, done that. Received nothing. I like the candle. 🙂
I haven’t lit any candles for too many days. But you inspired me to do so tonight.
Mama said there’l be days like that….
