A Good Deal
Yes, I posted this poem about my Granny the other day. I repost today for purposes of example.
I love staring into an old photograph and looking for the poetry in it. I made this offer last year and had nothing but satisfied customers – you send me an image of an old photo along with any information/thoughts I’d need to know about who/what the image represents, I’ll sit with it, stare into it, then craft a poem for you. I’ll send the poem back and you can print it, mat it, re-font it, frame it, enlarge it, put it on a t-shirt, whatever. Then you can surprise a family member or friend this holiday season with something that won’t break or they won’t outgrow, something that stirs memory.
If you’ve spent any time around here then you know my style; I try to be concise. The cost per poem is $50. If you’re interested, leave me a comment with a way to contact you or message me via FB or direct message on Twitter and we’ll go from there. Of course the sweetest thing would be that you find an old photo and write a poem yourself. But if I can help you in the gift department this most wonderful time of year, I’m happy to, I really am.
Oh, John. This is such a lovely ministry. I’d love to have you do one for my aunt who died last night. I’ll try to get an old photo scanned in the next couple of days and send it to you over the weekend. Just let me know how. Someday, I’ll be ordering one for my mom, too.
Sorry – email = dtrautwein at gmail dot com or FB message is fine, too
I envision people everywhere wearing t-shirts emblazoned with John Blasé poetry, a fashion revolution:)
Oops, now I think I just called you blasé. The computer added that apostrophe, not me.
I would love this — I may have more than one though. What do I need to do? I think this is wonderful!
Hi, Mary. I’ll send you an email – okay?
Wondering if this is something you would make available
at other times of the year? A birthday or anniversary?
What a treasure to have!!
Absolutely, Gwen!

Is the next few days too late for Christmas?
Not too late, Annie.
So…what do I do?
