As You Can
My friend Brennan used to say
pray as you can, not as you should.
I’ve prayed as I ought for over forty years
now and I believe its time for a change.
Not because I’ve had enough but because
I’d like to believe there’s a little more to see
before the voices of the artificial wise
fully fence in the open range of grace.
So I’m gonna pray as I can, which we all know means pray for what I want. My will be done is interpreted differently on the backside of forty than say on the verge of twenty, or at least it should be.

Merry Christmas, and did your folks arrive safely?
Pray as you can…good words.
Sometimes as I can means I don’t have words, but the Spirit knows.
