Thoughts on the Third Day of the Octave of Christmas

Just before Christmas I felt my saddle shifting from underneath me. I was sad.
Those were not silent nights, or days. I was reminded
that we live in a dark time.
Someone
said
something
in a soft porn magazine interview that caused us to
shoulder our tongues, aim and commence again our civil war.
As with any such conflict some fight informed while some
simply love to fight, swept into the rush of injustice.

Now, days after Christmas, the smoke has cleared. This will not last.
Blues and Grays will tend their wounded and restrategize for
the next wave of words. Dear God, we need
someone
to say
something
that makes sense for the common good.
I do not believe this voice will come from our extremities
but will speak from the heart. This will be
someone who remembers the old ideals.

Man, I wish there were a way to just plaster these good, wise and so-welcome words everywhere these ugly events happen. Thank you.
