You may turn away
from the complexity that is
your life. But then you must live
with the consequences
of turning away.
We wish upon some static star
to bring order to our days.
We forget stars shine only by
burning, flames the
requisite for grace.
Weeping. Thank you.
And my life becomes these words.
Burn out bright.
Thank you for this reminder.
Well, there you have it. Sir, you appear to have cornered the market on truth lately. (Or is that “always”?) Thank you.
“You may turn away
from the complexity that is
your life. But then you must live
with the consequences
of turning away.”
That would be- becoming who I am not. But it is so tough to carry on through it all sometimes. Yet walking away would redefine who I am. And I am not willing to be that person.
Your continual reminders of what it takes to be who I am remind me to look up to the One who desires me not to turn away.
