The Stars’ Ways

Once a time upon a dawn

the stars decided to forego

their routine shining in favor

of glistering. I say this with

some measure of authority

for I was there that morning

the stars danced as if they

were the very eyes of God

probing, searching, ranging

to and fro. Why such celestial

strutting, you ask? The verse

I hid in my boyish heart causes

me to lean toward the purpose

of strengthening the hearts of

those whose eyes are up at 4am.

Yet I fear the stars’ ways are not

my own. It could be they desired

to cut a rug when chances were

good no one was looking. But I was.

Thanks for a good start to my morning, John.

    ““Where were you
when I laid the earth’s foundation?
    Tell me, if you understand.
    Who marked off its dimensions?
    Surely you know!
Who stretched a measuring line across it?
On what were its footings set,
    or who laid its cornerstone—
while the morning stars sang together
and all the angels shouted for joy?”

    ‭‭Job‬ ‭38:4-7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

    Blessings!
    Phil

When this first popped up in my email, I thought it said “Star Wars” and I was very confused, haha. But in all seriousness, this is gorgeous. I love how you paint a picture of a boy filled with awestruck wonder.

Love it. I’ve had a few of these moments myself: witnessing a moment of creation that brings God glory. Alone.
What a feeling of mutual, intimate adoration. Wouldn’t you say?

A Question: I quoted Scripture in the comment I posted . Is this not permissible and the reason it wasn’t accepted?

Entirely permissible, Phil. I think I was simply slow to accept.
